The places on this page are places we have been on Holiday, follow the links above and on the left for more places.

2 Adults 3 Kids and now a dog it is hard to get to these nice places abroad at a reasonable price so we have been doing Caravan holidays in the UK to keep the cost down.
Every place we have been so far we have enjoyed and would recommend to anyone.

Follow the links to see the places we have been a stayed.

If you like tenting holidays, Take your own or the one's already there, I fully recommend Jersey as the place to go at a very good cost and they our now starting to take Caravans although the cost of getting it across is very dear.

We Spent our time in Jersey in one of those already set up tents on a camp site called Rose Farm. www.jerseycamping.com The camp site has all the amenities that you would need including take away and bar with evening entertainment, Swimming pool, bike hire.
The kids loved it and we enjoyed our time there, its like staying in England but being abroad at the same time.

The money is the same, food, shops language and all the rest of it is the same as England but you are still what you could say is abroad.
There are so many places to visit that I could not start to name them all but I will name some of the places that we enjoyed going to.
The kids loved looking around the Shell House as they called it.
The garden and features of this House are all decorated with Shells. See the pictures.

St Brelade's Bay is well within walking distance from Rose Farm and seems to be one of the most popular beach's with plenty to do from shopping to fun boats or just to just lazing in the sun.
The German underground hospital is well worth a visit and is full of interesting facts about the island.
The Elizabeth Castle was a nice place to visit, you can walk across the causeway at low tide or catch the DUKW ferry across.
Jersey Zoo is well worth a visit and has many interesting things to see and do.
As for eating out there are many places to choose from. As for the night time entertainment there is plenty to do but my kids opted to spend an hour in St. Helier every night on the trampolines on the beach.
Well what else can I say great place to visit and have a good time.

Lapland This was done as a surprise trip for the kids before they got to old, it was very expensive but worth every penny.
We stayed at a Travel Inn the night before as it was a early flight from Gatwick (7:00am) This way we would not have an even earlier start from home and the long drive up to Gatwick.

The flight from Gatwick was uneventful and everyone on the plane was in the Christmas Mood.
On arrival at the Airport we debarked from the Plane into a nice cool temperature of -24°c, The hairs up your nose start to freeze and the tears in your eyes like wise.
We then went through customs, Met our guide for the day and boarded a nice warm coach which took us to a dressing station were we where supplied with all the extra clothing that we would need for the day, and did we need it.

Next stop was to get into some sledges which were pulled along by snowmobiles down a frozen river to our activity centre, at this point the temperature had dropped to minus 27°c and the wind chill had taken it to -34°c, the route to the centre lasted about 15 minutes, but it was a spectacular trip along a frozen river and the route all lit by what was like holes cut in the ice and then filled with oil and a wick.

Very pleasing to the eye but the coldest time of my life.
At the activity centre there was Husky sledge rides, Reindeer sledge rides, small Toboggan run, Skiing and for the more adventures you could take out a snowmobile for a ride around.
Near by was several log type cabins with open fires and warm drinks, in the main cabin there was Soup, pancakes, Tea, Coffee and more warm drinks and food, All this was included in the cost.

During the time at this activity centre the kids get to see Santa and receive a gift from him, he calls them by first names which he finds out first, so it makes it even better for the kids.
After all of this it was off to the Santa village shopping centre to get some souvenirs before dropping all the clothing off and the flight back.

As I said at the start an expensive trip but worth every penny for the kids and to say that you have done it.
