Marwell Zoo makes a wonderful
day out for all the family.
It is a large park of one hundred acres, with ideal spots for picnics or food from the Treetops cafe.
Marwell Zoo has over 200 species of rare animals from; the great herd of giraffe, Rhinos, Cheetahs, Hippos, Camels and the Snow leopards.
"The Roof of the World" at Marwell is a magnificent new area for Marwell's Snow leopards and other animals from the high altitudes.
New for 2006 was go a little deeper "Into
Africa" with a raised walkway into the Giraffe paddock.

We visited Marwell Zoo when we were staying at Bournemouth for a week and had a really great day out.
The Zoo is in a great setting with large paddocks and enclosures for its animals, so it can take you a while to walk all the way around.
You can ride on the free road train or hop on the rail train.
For the disabled visitor you can book an electric buggy in advance or take your chance on the day.
We found all the staff at Marwell to be very helpful, The zoo provides a day full of fun and interest for all ages.
There is a large gift shop, amusements and an adventure playground. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Family tickets available please check the Marwell website for details.
