Lady's Mile Dawlish
Ladys mile at Dawlish Warren is a large camp site with most things on the site for the kids,
Two play area's indoor and outdoor swimming pool 8 hole pitch and putt, Kite flying area and Dog walk.
There are Launderette's on site several shower blocks and a well stocked shop
selling most of what you would need but at slightly inflated prices.
Some of the pitch's are close together but the camp site overall is not to bad and kept
clean. Ladys mile Dawlish can seem a bit cramped at times but overall the kids enjoyed their stay here. www.ladysmile.co.uk
You can walk to the Dawlish local car boot sale with ease from this site, its approx. a 5 minute walk.
Dawlish Warren is about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive but car parking can be difficult. Dogs are allowed on the Beach here but you must go over to the far left which is
about a 5 minute walk. (The access to this bit can be difficult if you have a
member of the family who is disabled or has trouble walking).

There is a nice Pub at Dawlish Warren down near the beach called The Boathouse which can be found at this site
www.boathouse.uk.com
Very good food can be found here although the price is a bit steep for my
liking.
The real good news for dog owners is they allow dogs into the
outside eating area and the ground floor eating area, so the boat house gets full marks
from me on this one. Its difficult to find places like this and sometimes you may be out for a stroll and fancy a Pint and
a bite to eat but is difficult with the dog in tow.
(do check first though as they may change the rules)
If you are after cabin type accommodation Hazelwood Park in Dawlish Warren has some nice cabins
at reasonable prices. www.hazelwoodpark.co.uk/ Friendly staff, fun for the kids and accepts dogs. Five minute walk to the Dawlish beach from here.
Dawlish is a small seaside town worth looking around with the usual shops and take a way's.
The beach here also takes dogs but you have to stay to the left hand side. We spent most of
our time going to Teignmouth yet another seaside town with plenty of the usual
nick knack shops to look at, and if you go to the far right by the harbour you
can take dogs on to the beach also there is a car park near by.
Other Places to visit while at Dawlish Warren
We paid a visit to Paignton Zoo which was worth the visit, you do need the
whole day to walk around and see everything. www.paigntonzoo.org.uk
The water park Quaywest was another day out we had, the kids really enjoyed this
place (also allows dogs kept on the lead on the grassy area) lots of water
slides for young and old, Brave and not so Brave.
Quaywest
On a drive out over Dartmoor we came across a nice place called Pixie land at
Dartmeet Princetown. www.pixieland.co.uk this was a small gift shop in the middle of nowhere selling little trinkets and other great stuff. If you have small kids the might like a visit here, no cost to look around the grounds and see the pixies and a nice shop.
