Trewhiddle holiday estate is near St. Austell and is a
good family campsite very peaceful and relaxing, this campsite also takes
dogs.

At Trewhiddle there is a free heated outdoor pool and with a flume, amusements and a play area for the kids. There is a Pub and Restaurant which was very good service and severed a well recommended carvery everyday.
The thing that the camp site is lacking is a good shop, but with St Austell only a mile down the road this is not a major problem.
The pitches at Trewhiddle are not to bad although they are on a slight slope, Showers are a bit on the lacking side with only 4 to be shared for the men, but it was not a major problem.
There is a cycle way just outside the campsite which is a nice ride, although you do have to cross the main road first.
There are some very nice coves and harbors to take a look
around on the St Austell side, Charlestown with its sailing ships and shipwreck
centre is nice, Mevagissey is good for the shops, and Fowey as well.
Cornwall Gold centre is a good free place to look around with things for the kids to do,
like panning for gold or gems, pottery making, also the Eden project is not to
far away, costly to get in but worth the look.
Par beach which is not to far away accepts dogs and was not too bad if you don't
mind the seaweed, Newquay is only about 16 miles across country where the better
beach's are.
We spent some of our time at Watergate Bay just outside Newquay,
Nice wide and long clean beach, plenty of space for all, Dogs are allowed on
this beach and it has some nice shallow surf for the kids.
Porth beach is another good beach for families just outside of Newquay it is a long narrow
beach when the tide is out.(no dogs)
