Whitsand bay is on Cornwall's East coast, there is a great 3 mile beach here at Whitsand bay, there are some sheltered coves along this beach and dogs are allowed here all year round. Whitsand is a bit rugged and rural but if you like somewhere not to crowded and off the beaten track this place is great.
The access to Whitsand beach can be difficult if you have a member of the family who is disabled or has trouble walking as the only way to get to the beach is to follow the steep paths down to the beach.
Only the Tregonhawke part of the beach has toilets and there is also a Cafe here. The beach can be used for surfing but there are rip currents and there is no lifeguard service. The western end of the beach has a firing range and is closed during range operation. remember like all beaches you should always keep a close eye on the tide and the access points other wise there is a chance of being cut off by the tide.
